It's been another busy year for the team at Display Solutions! We've introduced a range of new products, hosted our first seminar with Litemax, exhibited at the Electronics Design Show and grown the team by two!

Litemax's First UK Seminar

Electronics Design Show 2016

Registration for EDS is now open!

Registration for the Electronics Design Show is now open! We're delighted to be exhibiting at the show again this year, we'll be located on stand H42.
 
EDS is the UK’s must-attend event for electronics design. Successful design is always evolving and improving and EDS is no different. Now in its fifth year, the show in 2016 offers you a fully immersive experience of innovation, inspiration, interaction and insight. 


The show runs from 19th - 20th October 2016 and will be held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The show is co-located with the Embedded Design Show and the Engineering Design Show.

Congratulations to NOLTC!

On Sunday, North Oxford’s men’s A team beat Maidenhead to stay in second place in the Aegon Team Tennis (ATT) regional league.

The men's team, which are sponsored by Display Solutions, beat the opposition 12-0. 

This year the team are aiming to progress from the regional league to the national league. They are currently the only team in Oxfordshire to play at this level.

 
The teams next match will be on Sunday 5th June 2016 against David Lloyd Milton Keynes.

Proud to Sponsor NOLTC

We are delighted to announce that we are the professional sponsor for the North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club (NOLTC) Men’s team taking part in the  Aegon Team Tennis Regional Competition.

This year the team are aiming to progress from the regional league to the national league. They are currently the only team in Oxfordshire to play at this level. Their campaign started on Sunday 3^rd April and runs until Sunday 19^th June 2016. 

Cheng Yoe, Managing Director of Display Solutions, is a member of the club. Commenting on the sponsorship, Cheng said: “I’m proud to be part of NOLTC and of our involvement in helping the men’s team on their journey to reaching the national league. I’m looking forward to seeing them play throughout the season.”

A trip to RBTE

This week the team with be visiting Retail Business Technology Expo. The show runs 9th-10th March and is being held at Olympia, London.

RBTE is the must attend event for retail, hospitality, travel, entertainment and leisure operators and etailers who want to keep up to date with the latest solutions, as well as take advantage of the strategic and tactical advice that will be available to help them and  is relevant for all members of the team responsible for taking or influencing purchasing decisions.

RBTE is co-located with the Retail Design Expo and Retail Digital Signage Expo. 

The three shows will see 16,000+ visitors, 550+ global solution providers covering the broadest range of solutions and services, over 190 speakers and The Biggest array of end to end solutions – covering every customer touch point.

Projects from 2015

In 2015 we worked on a variety of projects with our partners ranging from point of sale applications and interactive kiosks through to video walls.

Here's an overview of three of our favourite projects from the year. 


Reflect; a versatile and modular kiosk family



Evoke specialises in providing bespoke kiosk systems to a number of customers across the retail, commercial and public sectors. When there was a requirement to develop a feature rich interactive multifunctional kiosk, Evoke turned to long and trusted partner Display Solutions for their digital signage expertise. 

The project was to create Reflect; a versatile and modular kiosk family enabling Evoke to approach their existing clients with a unique product across multiple market sectors. Within the retail environment the Reflect kiosk would be a unique interactive point-of-sale (POS) system that would improve the customer experience while enabling the retailer to open up new revenue streams and gain potential cost savings. One of the primary requirements was that shoppers would be able to use the interactive display as a mirror and would replace existing mirrors in the stores.

A unique communication and presentation video wall for the RAC 

With high demands on its breakdown rescue service, the RAC has upgraded its two control centres with the introduction of a unique digital signage solution, a video wall dashboard consisting of 38 LCD screens and two video walls.

Measuring 2.9 x 3.01m in size, the first video wall uses 15 46” full HD ultra-thin bezel backlit LCD display screens whilst the second is made up of 3 55” displays covering 1.2m x 2.0m.

Brendan O’Reilly appointed Commercial Manager of Display Solutions

Display Solutions is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendan O'Reilly to the newly created position of Commercial Manager.

In his new role, Brendan will play a key role in the supply chain and management of existing suppliers as well as introducing new suppliers to enhance the Company's product range. Brendan will continue with his Account Management role as well as managing and developing the internal sales and technical support team. 

Commenting on the appointment, Managing Director Cheng Yoe said: “Brendan joined the Company in 2003 and has made a valuable contribution in the direction and growth of the business in the last decade. I'm sure you will join me in wishing him every success in this new and challenging role.”

Welcoming the Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year is determined by the Lunar calendar. It falls on different dates every year, between mid-January and mid-February. The Chinese Zodiac runs in 12-year cycles with an animal representing each year. 

This year we are heading to the Year of the Monkey which officially starts on 8^th February 2016 and lasts until 27^th January 2017.

In Chinese astrology, the 12 animal zodiac signs each have unique characteristics. People born in the year of the monkey are said to be quick-witted, charming, lucky, adaptable, bright, versatile, lively and smart.

We’d like everyone a happy and prosperous Year of the Monkey!

Electronics Design Show 2015: An Overview

Hosted at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, the Electronics Design Show is the go-to event for the UK's design engineering community.

We had a range of products on show including displays from Litemax and DisplayTouch, PC's from Shuttle and ASRock and a unique mirrored display from our partner Evoke. 

The show provided a great opportunity to network with engineers, buyers and students as well as the chance to catch up with some of our customers.

EDS 2015 - DisplayTouch

With the Electronics Design Show on the way, we thought we'd give you some background on the products we'll be taking to the show. Each week we'll be writing about a different product, so make sure you keep an eye out!

DisplayTouch

DisplayTouch is our in-house range of touch screen displays. We'll be showcasing the 42" PCAP touch monitor with PSD technology and a new slim design at the Electronics Design Show in October.
