Introducing the Momentum Series from Cervoz
Cervoz develops, produces and markets industrial storage and
memory products for the professional, critical and diverse industrial
applications.
One of their new developments has recently been brought to our attention. They have produced a new high performance MLC SSD solution. MLC flash is most commonly used in consumer grade products such as cameras, phones and memory sticks. However Cervoz is bringing MLC technology to the Industrial market by using a DRAM buffer to increase its lifecycle. The MTBF of these SSD’s is now 2,000,000 hours. Another benefit of this DRAM buffer is that it also optimises the performance of the SSD.

Cervoz is seeing large performance increases by adding this DRAM buffer. Sequential write speeds have been increased from 160MB/s to over 280MB/s. We can also excitingly take a look at over a 200% increase in the 4KQD values. The 4KQD values are the closest to the general users operating environment and are therefore the greatest values for reference.
