Welcoming the Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year is determined by the Lunar calendar. It falls on different dates every year, between mid-January and mid-February. The Chinese Zodiac runs in 12-year cycles with an animal representing each year. 

This year we are heading to the Year of the Monkey which officially starts on 8^th February 2016 and lasts until 27^th January 2017.

In Chinese astrology, the 12 animal zodiac signs each have unique characteristics. People born in the year of the monkey are said to be quick-witted, charming, lucky, adaptable, bright, versatile, lively and smart.

Interactivity in Retail

Interactive kiosks and point-of-sale (POS) systems are forever changing the way we as consumers shop. I remember as a child, if I needed something, I would physically have to go to the high street, pick what I wanted, take it myself to the till, pay and then carry it home myself.

Then in the early 2000’s internet shopping was introduced. A form of shopping which allowed people to look through all of their favourite retail, food and electronic shops from the comfort of their home. Although this style of shopping saved people from joining the hustle and bustle of busy shopping malls at peak times, the physical element was lost, and novelties such as trying out goods, using changing rooms and getting to touch and feel a particular product were lost.

Litemax aquire WynMax

Litemax specialise in sunlight readable, high brightness LCD modules with industry’s leading LED backlight technologies.
 

WynMax provides industrial-grade single board computers, embedded computer platforms and bare-bone systems. WynMax’s solutions are used in various applications including digital signage, industrial automation, on-board entertainment, POS systems, wireless communications and IP surveillance.

Following the completion of the M&A process, WynMax will become a business unit that is part of Litemax Electronics.
