There is nothing worse
than being given incorrect travel updates or perhaps none at all. Whether it is
a bus running late with a lack of information to tell you so or whether the
07:47 train to London
has been cancelled without warning, we’ve all been there. Travel updates are
becoming ever more important, but so is the ability to read them, particularly
with the rise in severe weather conditions. Passenger information screens are a
lifeline to many of us, especially on a cold and busy commute when there isn’t
a moment to spare. That’s where Display Solutions and RSL come onboard to solve
our travel information issues.
Given the recent extreme
weather conditions we have experienced throughout the UK , it is key
that any screen which carries live information must be able to withstand such
conditions. Another vital element for any screen is the readability, followed
by the importance of reliability. Fortunately, here at Display Solutions we
have found a product that combines these factors to create a 1000-nit stretch
panel which gives the highest levels of sunlight readability combined with low
power consumption; The perfect alliance for constant operation with strong
value for money. Brendan, our product manager from Display Solutions states “It
was important to deliver a solution that had a low total cost of ownership that
would mean ease of maintenance together with industrial performance.”
Here at Display Solutions
we are committed to working hard to meet our manufacturing partner’s needs, and
working with RSL on the travel update screens is the ideal example of how we do
this. Brendan says “This project illustrates everything we are about at Display
Solutions – we design for the real world where systems need to operate
constantly and be subjected to the wear and tear of public usage”.
With over 150 screens installed
so far in bus stops all over the UK , the future is looking bright
and by all means readable, for RSL and Display Solutions.
